Plenty to see and do at Flames home opener
There will be plenty of action on the ice and plenty of action off the ice at the Calgary Flames home opener Oct. 4 against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The puck drops at 8 p.m. and the game is on Hockey Night In Canada and on The Fan 960 radio. But fans attending the game have the chance to kick off the 2007-08 season in style in and around the Pengrowth Saddledome.

The festivities begin with the Molson Pre-Game Tailgate Party on the west tarmac outside the Pengrowth Saddledome starting at 6 p.m. There's live music featuring 20/20 as well as food and beverage.

Be sure you are in your seats by 7:45 p.m. as the Flames entertainment department , keeping in sync with the Flames salute to minor hockey, has put together a special opening ceremony and video that you will not want to miss.

There will be player introductions and, of course, the national anthems sung by Heather Liscano.

The intermissions are also action-packed. In the first period intermission there's the Danone Yogurt $50,000 Shoot For Loot and during the second intermission there is the Pengrowth Shootout.
