SAN JOSE, CA --
Olli Jokinen notched his seventh career hat trick and
Miikka Kiprusoff recorded his 300th career win in the Calgary Flames 4-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday.
Jokinen, whose third goal of the night was the game-winner, also had an assist in the game.
Kiprusoff, who is now just the 27th goaltender in League history to reach the 300-win plateau, made 34 saves in the outing.
Sharks goaltender Antti Niemi made 32 stops.
Jokinen collected his 14th goal of the season at 12:30 of the first period, the result of some excellent sustained pressure in the Sharks zone.
Jarome Iginla was able to corral the puck before the Sharks could converge on it, sending it back to
Chris Butler. The blueliner sent a hard shot on net from the point and Jokinen deflected it over Antti Niemi.
Jokinen scored his second goal of the night on a second period power play.
Alex Tanguay sent a hard shot from the point wide of the net in hopes one of his teammates could grab the rebound. Jokinen jammed away at the loose puck, eventually slipping it past the netminder.
The Sharks got themselves on the board when Logan Couture sent a wrister past Kiprusoff, extending his point streak to seven games.
Joe Pavelski tied it up just 83 seconds later, taking a perfect pass from Joe Thornton from behind the net and wristing it into the back of the net.
The Flames drew ahead 11:15 of the second stanza when Jokinen made a perfect pass to Iginla and the captain snapped a hard shot past Niemi for his 21st goal of the season.
San Jose was able to tie it up early in the third period when Michal Hanzus scored on the power play but the Flames pushed right back after the equalizer.
Jokinen completed his hat trick when Tanguay capitalized on a Colin White turnover, dished him the puck and the pivot snapped his 16th tally of the campaign into the back of the net.
