WCHA Second All-Star Team (2013) NCAA West Second All-American Team (2013) Traded to Calgary by Florida for Calgary's 4th round choice (Michael Downing) in 2013 Entry Draft, June 18, 2013.

Corban Knight, by definition, is a prospect. However, at 23 and with four years of NCAA play under his belt, he possesses maturity on the ice that creates time and space. A puck cough-up is rare for this pivot, as his ability to read the play and make the right decision is invaluable.

Knight has a knack for delivering leading-passes and a foresight that finds available ice up the middle. Further more, in and around the slot, he uses his 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame to wield tape-to-tape passes as well as a quick, premeditated release.

As a native of High River, Alberta, the Calgary Flames were suited perfectly to trade for Knight’s rights from the Florida Panthers. With his fourth and final season competed with the University of North Dakota (WCHA), Knight led the Sioux in assists (33) and was second in goals (16), points (49) and third in penalty minutes (40). Once more, he was a top 10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, which recognizes NCAA’s top college hockey player. He finished his college career with 52 goals and 94 assists, for a total of 146 points, along with 145 penalty minutes, in 161 games.
