CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed forward Paul Byron.
“Paul was a very valuable depth player for us last season and had a solid playoff-run with Abbotsford,” said General Manager Jay Feaster. “Paul looked right at home during his various recalls to Calgary and he demonstrated that he can score goals at the NHL level. He continues to knock on the door of becoming a full-time NHL player, and we are confident that given his commitment, dedication and solid work ethic he will take the steps necessary to make the jump to the next level.”
Byron, a native of Ottawa, Ontario has played 22 games with the Flames this season recording 3 goals and 2 assists. In another 39 games with the Heat, he had 7 goals and 14 assists along with 40 penalty minutes.
Contract terms: One year two way contract with an AAV of $585,000 / $105,000.
