Steve Staios surveyed the media-crowded Calgary Flames dressing room Friday as he was asked about what advice he had imparted to his teammates about playing in the Heritage Classic.
"Be ready for this," he said, waving towards the media crammed into the room.

"We have got to have an alumni game," Fleury chirped into the ear of Kerr.
Lo and behold, there is an alumni game featuring the Calgary Flames and Montreal Canadiens. Many players from the 1989 Stanley Cup winning team, including Fleury, are set to dress for Calgary. Others include Lanny McDonald, Al MacInnis, Joe Nieuwendyk, Jim Peplinski, Gary Roberts -- who just got over a bout of pneumonia -- and Mike Vernon.

Calgary forward Olli Jokinen is miffed.
And so he should be after taking a deliberate knee-on-knee hit Monday from the Avs Philippe Dupuis at the tail end of the first period of the Flames 9-1 rout of the Avs. At the time, the score was 5-0. Jokinen had four points -- the first Flame to record four points in a period since Al MacInnis did it against the Oilers in 1991. His line was on a roll -- eventually finishing with 11 points.
